Ok I will talk about time management. I am the absolute most horrible person when it comes to time management. I know what I’m supposed to do but I am too lazy most of the time. So mark my words and don’t follow in my footsteps. I know some of you guys can’t help it just like me but, try. This is the perfect schedule; when you get back from school, do your thing for some 10 minutes then, go straight to your homework and studying. If you do this you will never sleep late unless you want to stay up late and you will have more free time. You will also feel better and not burdened by anything because your homework is all done. Some of you may already do this but for those who don’t, you have read this paragraph DO IT.
About school. If you do all of the above^ then you won’t sleep late which, means you won’t be sleepy at school and that leads to better participation in class. You will get better grades for you’re in class participation. Now the class where participation is half your entire grade; PE. If you don’t try in PE then you won’t get a good grade. You will hate the fitness but when you get a substitute that doesn’t do fitness for maybe a week then you will like your PE teacher. I got worse push-ups than last time because I had a PE teacher for maybe two weeks. Mark my words young Padawan or you will fail… epically…..
He crawled in the bushes careful not to touch any insects. Just a few feet more and then he would see the house. Finally! He peered into the house to see if there were any occupants present inside the building. From what he could see the inside was clean and tidy which, meant that the house was either occupied or the dust coating is not visible. He contemplated moving closer for a better vantage point but hesitated. He moved anyway but not as far as he had planned.
She stole a glance at the house while walking to the mall. There was a guy on the top floor balcony looking into a fish pond. Nothing was very interesting to her except maybe the guy if only she had her glasses. So she decided to find out who the boy was. She walked until she saw his face and recognized him as the class nerd. She suddenly became uninterested and immediately left.
Why this is a nice house she thought. She was looking for a house since she just had her third baby. The baby is in a nice stroller in front of her. Oh, nevermind she thought after seeing the boy in the balcony.
I have read 3 blogs and they touch on a couple of things. The most prominent one is about gaming such as internet games ex. miniclip, runescape, etc. They are critisized by their parents when they play too much games. The second thing I noticed was that the intenet is very addicting, as I have found out. It is also difficult but not impossible to go through a week without the internet. Thank god we haven’t gone to the stage when thirteen year olds can’t live without the internet. Some differences are that only one ever mentioned anything about using the internet and/or the computer to do school work and also checking their grades. One of the people actually go outside when their parents tell them to which, is really good for them. With exercise you don’t get gaming fat. Some people don’t get that ex. me because they are lucky but my fitness has gone down alot.
I think only if people play games on the computer that their parents get annoyed and tells the kid to stop playing and to go outside to have some fresh air. I am kind of in the middle with this. I think too much time on the computer isn’t good but, with maybe a quarter of the time for exercising, you could probably slide away with that. Of course your parents would want at least half but, are we really going to do that, no. Parents are also a problem, well, a solution if you ask an adult, for kids at least. They interfere with gaming. They are hopeless hypocrites (don’t quote me on this, it was from one of the blogs) but, we wouldn’t have computers if it wasn’t for them so… We (kids) lose. Look on the bright side. We’ll get to do this to our own kids one day also! People like to interact, not just look at a TV screen all day watching people do things so I guess the intenet is both a blessing and a curse.
My mother thinks I spend too much time on the computer but, I ask; what do you want me to do? Stay in my room all day doing nothing? Or do you want me to be at least in some way productive? I spend a lot of time on the computer because I am bored. My little brothers occupy the TV all the time. I am not really into reading anymore and I can’t sit and do nothing. It would drive me crazy. So I turn to the computer the new place to get ALL my entertainment and pretty soon maybe almost all my schoolwork. I play games, I can watch almost any TV show from anywhere around the world, and I can do my school work. The only thing that would almost completely destroy most people’s interests in spending a lot of time on the computer would be if the internet went away. I can estimate about 97% of my time on the computer I am doing something using and/or relating to the internet.
Yes I have been criticized but, isn’t this the future? I mean almost everything is moving to things like smart-phones and computers. I think those criticisms are valid from an old-age point of view where you don’t know what your son or daughter is doing. If you are one of the lucky people (I mean extremely lucky) who have at least one parent who is tech-savvy there might be some meaning to the criticism. I mean if you play games all day and nobody is there to regulate it, when would you have time for homework and school? Some people are extremely talented gamers and become professional gamers who earn an average of twenty-four thousand dollars a year. Only a few make it past the $100,000 mark. So I wouldn’t hope on becoming a pro-gamer.
I love it when I get to play games at my own will as much as I want, when I want. That will almost never happen though I can kind of do that because I am one of the lucky kids who their parents love them. I play as much as I want well, until my mom comes at around seven pm and tells me to do homework. That is still about four to five hours of gaming and internet time every day. As for Facebook and other social networking sites, I don’t spend much time on them because there is not really anything worth looking at for hours at a time. Most of my time nowadays is spent on gaming.
There were some bad things like when my grades suddenly dropped because I completely forgot about half of the homework assignments. The only scolding I got was a weird “you have to get your grades up” and that was it. I also hate it when the internet slows down dramatically. I’d be waiting a minute for a page to load up and I’ll get mad. Then when the online games lag and I get pwned by some noobs I get mad. Lag is the term used for slowdowns and when weird things happen when they are not supposed to.
The computer revolution and more specifically the internet one, has become a curse and a blessing because of things like social networking sites and illegal site such as the pirate bay. A lot of people could not live without the internet so what do you think?
Guess what? More depressing news about our economy. Yes, it is very dark and gloomy, especially with Dark Chocolate therefore; it is now the White Chocolate that has taken over. Cheer up people! This time I am writing about the Czech Republic. The story is from Topix.com which takes little long to find a story and actually read it for but, more in the third paragraph. I haven’t really talked about the economic crisis but, from what I hear, I’m interpreting that as some guy Sweden deleting some computer files and making a huge mess. No just kidding, I really have no idea, except I know what people are doing because of it. People are cutting back on expenses and not helping the economy into better shape because they think that they need to save their money. I say, that unless you have invested HUGELY in the stock market, which I don’t know why anybody would do, just spend!
The story can be found on a website called the Global Post. The headline reads; Crisis puts migrant workers in a bind. The article is about immigrant workers living and working in the Czech Republic. They have lost jobs because of the crisis and people aren’t spending as much as they used to. So the government has come up with a scheme; to send the immigrants back to their homeland by urging them to pay $650 and get a free plane ride home. Considering the average yearly income per person is $12,700 and the income in their homeland is much lower its a wonder why already about 1000 people have signed up (this is an estimate).
I think that this is a good idea for the benefit of the government but the not the immigrants. About the economic crisis, my opinion is that all the hype is based on somehow money “dissapearing”. Then where the *&@#@#$%^&^%$#$%^& did it go!?!?!?! It can’t just magically “dissapear” and never resurface. Or maybe some guy in sweden came in and stole a whole ton of money. I doubt it. Ok, I am derailing, quickly.

Today, from the side that brought you dark chocolate, is HD-TV over the internet! From, guess where? The US, no. Canada, sorry but, no. The Czech Republic (Pronouced ‘Check’)! For the notice, HD-TV stands for High Definition-Television. I don’t know how a single word got transformed into a two letter abbreviation but, what do you expect from geeks such as myself. I’m writing about a news article this time instead of a blog this time. I chose this article because I am a “geek” as mentioned in my previous post and, this is the first HDTV over the internet I have actually heard of. I’m sure there are more countries with this technology but, I have never really seen a particular article of blog post about it.
This article was about how MATTES AD, a leading Video-Over-Internet-Provider (VoIP-again with the abbreviations) in the Czech Republic is using HaiVision Network Video’s, a world-wide leader in Hi-Def (H.264) codecs, hai1000 encoder to turn the new Barrandov TV channel to be Hi-Def and Broadcast over the internet(HDVoIP?) For all of you normal people out there, a Codec, is usually a program that is capable of encoding or decoding a digital stream of data ex., Internet Radio. The rest of the article is mostly useless gobbly-gook only for the most hardcore-geeks out there. It also has a part about MATTES AD and HaiVision that has general information about them.
I think that this is a very good idea because the internet right now, is becoming more of a utility than a service. For example, you can use Skype to make phone calls for less than 10 cents and, free computer to computer calls. Email replaces normal Mail that, could take at the least a week to get to the destination. It depends on whether the internet providers are willing to let the internet to become a utility rather than a service because, some of the time there are internet download caps, like what comcast does in the US. I personally, don’t mind having cable and a Internet connection but, I do want the internet to become a utility – everywhere.
Finding this information was a bit hard because, there wasn’t anything on globalvoicesonline.org so I had to look on Topix.com. Topix.com is just like globalvoicesonline except that it compiles news from many different websites instead of blog posts. You can search for a particular country in the search bar and a number of new feed results will pop up. The URL for this story is http://www.broadcastnewsroom.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=702906. Sorry about the geekiness, next time I’ll try not to make it geeky. Thanks for reading and Come to the Dark Side, and buy some Dark Chocolate…
Today I will be writing about a blogger in the UK but, writing about Poland. Her name is Sylwia Presley and she is a very active blogger. I chose this blogger because I am what you might call a “geek”. The topic of the blog post is about the new social networking site for the citizens of Poland.
Citizens are invited to become “e-memebers” or the parliament. They are invited to take part in e-voting to show the real opinions of the real citizens on topics such as new laws, human rights, and the like. As of the beginning of March there is about 700 users. Other than the ability to discuss the website allows people to see what new laws and/or legislation is going on and what it is all about. The hot topic as of the day Sylwia wrote this post the hot topic was about torture in special situations. Politicians can express their own views and opinions which, I think is a very good idea. The website is just like any other social networking site. Users can build up their profiles, use groups and forums, and can have an online discussion. A social networking site is a term used to describe websites such as Myspace or, more predominant, Facebook.
I have personally visited the website myself and from what I can tell the interface is pretty good. Currently, the entire site is only availible in Polish. I like the idea because it incoporates what we would do for social purposes right into making a more perfect government. The my isb is a little too basic to use as a main social networking platform but it was a nice try. Plus most people under 18 have never even heard of Twitter (if you know what I’m talking about). The interface reminds me of Facebook without those time-wasting apps and parts that contribute to OFD (Obsessive Facebook Disorder).
Personally I wish we could get rid of Twitter because right now it is a bit over-rated *cough* CNN *cough*. It is just Miniturized-mindless blogging. And the stuff on this reporter interviewing John McCain (sorry for the spelling) when they live in the same town is pretty gimmicky. Anyways if you’ve read this far, Kudos to you.
